Julie Weitz is a veteran in the television landscape. She is currently Executive Producer/President of Carol Mendelsohn Productions, the company of award-winning
showrunner and creator of the global phenomenon and franchise CSI. Carol Mendelsohn Productions is focused on creating quality scripted drama, comedy and reality series for network, cable and streaming platforms. Julie oversees all development, sales and production of tv content.
Prior to joining Mendelsohn, Weitz was a top television agent at prominent talent agency WME, representing writers, directors, producers and actors. She assisted clients in building labels around their brands across the broadcast and non-linear universe. Before joining WME, Weitz was head of programming for TNT, where she was charged with developing an ongoing growth strategy for scripted dramas. For her eight years at the helm, the network collected more Emmy and Golden Globe nominations and wins than any other basic cable network.
Weitz has been a board member on several boards including The Da Vinci School, Women in Film, The Endeavor Foundation and The Village School. She earned her graduate degree at The Annenberg School of Communications Management at USC, and her undergraduate degree from UCLA. She has taught classes at both her alma mater in The Art of the Pitch.
