Kent Weed is a multiple Emmy Award-nominated producer, Directors Guild Award-nominated director and co-founder of A. Smith & Co. Productions. He has more than 25 years of experience in television in multiple genres, including music, talk, game and reality, and has created formats such as HELL’S KITCHEN, “American Ninja Warrior” and “I Survived a Japanese Game Show.”

Weed co-founded reality television powerhouse A. Smith & Co. Productions with Arthur Smith in 2000 and was an executive producer on all of the company’s projects, including the Emmy Award- and People's Choice Award-nominated hit shows HELL’S KITCHEN, “Kitchen Nightmares,” “American Ninja Warrior,” “I Survived a Japanese Game Show,” “Full Throttle Saloon,” “Unsung,” “American Ninja Warrior,” “American Gangster,” “Pros Vs. Joes,” “The Swan” and “Trading Spaces.” In addition to his duties as President and executive producer, Weed also directed many of the company’s projects, receiving two Directors Guild Award nominations for “Spartan: Ultimate Team Challenge,” in 2017, and “I Survived a Japanese Game Show,” in 2009. The latter also won the international Rose d’Or Award for best format show in 2009.

In 2018, Weed stepped down as President of the company, but continues to produce and direct HELL’S KITCHEN and “American Ninja Warrior.” He is a speaker on overcoming obstacles in your life to achieve your goals and is currently a Mindvalley Master Certified Trainer and coach with Mindvalley.com.

An environmental activist, he also serves on the board of the Waterkeeper Alliance and chairs the communications and strategic planning committees. Started by Robert Kennedy Jr., WKA is the largest non-profit dedicated to clean water and protecting the world’s waterways.
