Seventh Annual Initiative to Continue to Expand Staffing Pipeline of

Experienced Writers with Diverse Voices, Backgrounds and

Life Experiences for Fox Productions

Fox Inclusion today announced that the Fox Writers Lab (FWL) is now accepting applications for its 2018 program, designed to nurture experienced and emerging writers with unique voices, backgrounds and life experiences and create a strong pipeline of well-rounded talent for potential staffing as writers and/or story editors on Fox productions. The FWL cultivates the voices of participating writers and helps them establish deeper connections with a wide range of Fox staff writers, show runners, screenwriters, directors and creative executives across television, feature films and digital entertainment.

The FWL offers trained writers an immersive four-month curriculum focused on developing original material, honing writing skills and exploring the business of media and entertainment. Eight writers will be selected to participate in the FWL. These selected writers receive priority staffing meetings for the established FWL Staff Writer position on a Fox television show. From the eight chosen writers, one will be named the 2018 FWL Fellow and receive a blind script deal with Fox Broadcasting Company.

Writers from last season’s FWL were staffed on current FOX series LUCIFER, THE GIFTED, THE LAST MAN ON EARTH and THE EXORCIST; upcoming FOX series THE RESIDENT and LA TO VEGAS; and 20th Century Fox Television’s “Fresh Off the Boat.”

This season, writers selected for the FWL will polish, refine and rewrite the existing, original pilot script they submitted as part of the application process.

The deadline for submissions to the Fox Writers Lab is Oct. 22, 2017. For more information about FWL, the submission process and application requirements, please visit https://theaudienceawards.com/fox/foxwriterslab.
