Saniyya Sidney was first seen as “Young Kizzy” in the new adaptation of Alex Haley’s “Roots,” directed by Mario Van Peebles. 

She was then seen as Taraji P. Henson’s daughter in the hit film “Hidden Figures,” for which the cast went on to earn a Screen Actors Guild Award for Best Ensemble. In the film “Fences,” Sidney played the role of “Raynell,” after being hand-picked by Denzel Washington for the part.

In her first comedy, “Kevin Hart’s Guide to Black History,” Sidney played Kevin Hart’s daughter. A dream of hers was fulfilled when Sidney landed a role portraying a character with superpowers, playing “Lila,” in the feature “Fast Color,” starring Gugu Mbatha-Raw and Lorraine Toussaint.

Sidney was raised and resides in Los Angeles.
