Tony Safford Appointed Vice President, FoxGives

LOS ANGELES – Fox Networks Group and Twentieth Century Fox Film today announced that Tony Safford has been appointed Vice President of FoxGives, the company’s employee engagement program for Los Angeles. In this newly created position, Safford will oversee the strategy for FoxGives, guiding its philanthropic areas of focus, non-profit organization partners and employee volunteer projects.

21st Century Fox Chief Communications Officer Julie Henderson said: “Our colleagues are excited and energized by the opportunity to connect with and contribute to the communities in which they work and live. Tony’s unique perspective as a longtime Fox employee, and his passion for philanthropic engagement, perfectly position him to expand and deepen those efforts across our workforce.”

Safford added: “I’m excited and honored to return to Fox in this new role. There are many opportunities for Fox to impact the world around us, and I look forward to working with my colleagues across the company to create robust, purpose-driven programs that positively impact the groups we serve, facilitate deeper involvement in our communities and help us form our better selves.”

Safford previously served as Executive Vice President, Acquisitions for Twentieth Century Fox, where he acquired film projects for all Fox divisions. In 2015, he led Fox Searchlight’s acquisition of the documentary He Named Me Malala and later transitioned to a role as special consultant coordinating the social impact campaign with Searchlight, National Geographic, Participant Media and the Malala Fund.

He earlier held senior roles at Miramax Films and New Line Cinema, and is a member of the Executive Branch of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences. Safford is active in various humanitarian and cultural organizations, including All Hands Volunteers, a disaster relief agency with which he volunteered across the U.S. as well as in Haiti, the Philippines and Ecuador.
