LOS ANGELES: August 11, 2017 – Fox Networks Group (FNG) and YouTube today announced plans to expand FOX’s TEEN CHOICE 2017 across digital platforms with the launch of TEEN FEST 2017, a free music and arts festival held in conjunction with the awards show. TEEN FEST 2017 will stream exclusively on YouTube and be hosted by YouTube star Jake Paul, who will also be streaming it on his channel.
YouTube will also serve as the exclusive social platform for TEEN FEST 2017 and will utilize YouTube’s latest VR technology - VR180 - to create an engaging experience for fans around the world to enjoy the Red Carpet pre-show of TEEN CHOICE 2017. VR180 video focuses on what’s in front of the viewer for a VR experience. Viewers can use a headset, such as Daydream, Cardboard or PSVR, and VR180 appears in high resolution video on desktop and on mobile. The YouTube and Daydream teams will use at least five VR 180 cameras to capture the one-hour live stream, which will feature voiced commentary, pre-produced star profiles, and interviews with the attendees, creating an immersive experience for fans around the world.
TEEN CHOICE 2017 will be the first broadcast television show to feature six-second ads, a format originally developed by YouTube. The same six-second ads from Mars and Duracell will air during YouTube’s stream of TEEN FEST 2017.
